Roll-Off Container Rental & Bin Rental Terms
Roll-Off Boxes
- NO HAZARDOUS OR LIQUID MATERIAL SHALL BE PLACED IN ROLL-OFF CONTAINERS OR BINS.
- There is an additional fee per ton for any load in excess of 10 tons. Heavy materials, such as concrete, asphalt, dirt, or sod should not be loaded in the roll-off container to a depth greater than 18 inches.
- There is an additional fee per day if a roll-off container pick-up request is not made after 7 days. Roll-off container and bin rental agreements exceeding 7 days are available and must be arranged ahead of time to avoid this fee.
- Delivery or removal of roll-off containers, boxes, or bins is done during business hours only, 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, at Midstate Solid Waste's discretion.
- A charge is made if roll-off box or bin is damaged or burned while in customer's custody and care or painted with graffiti.
- Allow 24 hours after roll-off box is loaded for removal, unless otherwise agreed.
- Same day service and delivery is usually available in SLO's North County, but at least one day's advanced notice is preferred.
- Prices vary depending on location.
Residential & Commercial Trash/Recycling Collection
Residential
- Residential routes begin at 6:30 AM. Customers are encouraged to place carts out the evening prior to their collection day.
- No dirt, rocks, sod or hot ashes in carts. Customer is responsible for cart replacement in case of fire or theft. Please do not
overfill and keep lids closed.
- Do not overfill containers.
- A space of 3 feet should be left between each card.
- No contaminants, pet waste, plastic bags or rocks in the green waste container.
- Additional charges will apply for distances in excess of 10 feet from roadside or curb.
- NOTE: Customer is responsible for private driveways used by Mid-State Solid Waste trucks for pickup service.
- Special consideration is offered to the infirmed, handicapped and the very elderly.
Commercial
- Commercial routes begin at 6:00 AM
- Containers must be on a hard level surface with drive up access unobstructed. Please do not overfill and keep lids closed.
- Compactors are also available for large volume generators.
Special Services
- Special services are available for collection of appliances, water heaters, tires, furniture and other large items. Please call for
prices.
- Advance arrangements need to be made for dirt, sod or rocks.
- Rent-a-Bins are available for residential clean-up.
- Large Roll-Off Boxes are available for construction, demolition, roofing material and clean-up.
Billing
- Rates are based on the billing cycle reflected on your bill.
- Current billing is due within 15 days of your billing date.
- Billing will continue for vacation periods of less than one month.
- A carrying charge, determined by law, may be imposed on overdue accounts.
- Absentee owners are encouraged to include the garbage bill in their rent in order to insure clean premises and avoid possible
liens against the property.
- Mid-State Solid Waste will not be responsible for items left on or near carts or containers, vandalism or acts of God.
Holidays
- Holiday collections will be one day later for Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New
Years Day unless they fall! on a weekend.
Hazardous Waste
- Mid-State Solid Waste cannot accept Hazardous Waste for disposal. Please contact the integrated Waste
Management Authority at (805) 782-8530 or (800) 400-0811 for information regarding the disposal of Hazardous Waste.
